EU Imposes Rubber-product Sanctions On Belarus

The sanctions are to remain in place until 4 June, according to information supplied by a European Commision spokeswoman, who also confirmed that “no similar measures are in place for Russia.”

As announced in the EU Official Journal, it shall be prohibited to import, directly or indirectly, rubber products into the EU that originate in Belarus or have been exported from that country.

It is also prohibited to purchase, directly or indirectly, rubber products which are located in or which originated in Belarus;

The ban furthernoire covers the transport of rubber products originating in Belarus or being exported from Belarus to any other country.

The provision of related technical assistance, brokering services, financing or financial assistance and insurance are also prohibited.
