Diisopropylbenzene peroxide DCP CAS NO.80-43-3

78 parts of hydrogen peroxide of isopropylbenzene (≥32%) and 98 parts of sodium sulfite are put into an aqueous solution in a reduction pot and subjected to heterogeneous reduction at 62~65℃ to obtain phenyl dimethyl methanol.

The obtained phenyl dimethyl methanol was condensed with 72 hydrogen peroxide isopropylbenzene at 42~45°C in the presence of 0.2 parts of perchloric acid and reacted to obtain the condensation solution of diisopropylbenzene peroxide.

After washing with 10% sodium hydroxide solution to neutral, the water was separated and concentrated by vacuum distillation, then dissolved in anhydrous ethanol, cooled to below 0℃ and crystallized, filtered and dried under vacuum to obtain the finished product of diisopropylbenzene peroxide. The filtrate is recovered as ethanol.
